Poetry often feels quiet and intimate; audiovisual live performance often carries a forceful impact. Yet both are forms of artistic creation born from the sudden release of emotions in the present moment. Poetry uses words to connect readers across the world, transcending physical distance. Audiovisual performance gathers people together through sound and vision, transcending differences of identity, language, and background.
This fall in New York, we are bringing poetry and audiovisual live performance together. From October 13 to 24, selected poets and new media artists will be paired to collaborate and create new works or expand upon existing ones.
