Petrichor

Can people meditate in a cyber rain forest? Can this highly spiritual act be performed in a fullly digital space? Can nature be projected onto a wall? Will It lead to a dystopian future or open up a new way for spiritual growth? Petrichor is my attempt to find an answer these questions.

Participants can choose their  preferred  ways to interact with this space.  They can move their arms around to  attract butterflies; they can strech  their bodies to  trigger different  sounds; they can lift their hands high to switch characters; they can rotate their waist  and  see  the character  mimicking  them... The combinations are endless.

This project is sponsored by Tisch Profunds, the Office of the Dean, and the Tisch Undergraduate Student Council. Petrichor curates a getaway with mindfulness, designed to foster wellness among artists within the Tisch community and beyond. Showcased at the Audio Lab at 370J Media Commons, Petrichor received around 500 visitors across two 4-hour exhibitions over two days.
